I was playing around with sponging and inking and here are some of the card fronts I ended up with. I loved how they turned out so I hope you guys do to.
The first one I did was the horizontal sweeping. I dabbed the one side of the sponge on the Perfect Plum ink pad and the other side on the Night of Navy ink pad. I gently swept across the paper making sure I wasn’t pushing the sponge too hard. After that, I stamped off the trees on the grid paper then on the paper with Archival Basic Black to give the trees dimension.
The next one I did was the Silent Night Northern Lights card. I decided to put it in an actual card because it was my favorite of them all. For this effect, I just very lightly dabbed the Elegant Eggplant ink on paper especially on the very top part. I also cut a little circle from a scrap piece of paper and used it to mask the paper to look like the moon. I dabbed more times as I got closer to the bottom to give it a darker effect. I used the same technique I did with the first card with the trees and added some Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details to look like snow. I also ran the Whisper White card base through the Big Shot with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. I did the pretty much the same on the inside of the card except I only dabbed on the lower left half of the paper.
As for this card, the family favorite, I swirled Tempting Turquoise all over the card with the sponge and Rich Razzleberry on just the top part. I just used the same technique with the trees again, of course.
I really enjoyed making these cards and finding new techniques I could use to make my stamping better. Hope you guys enjoy trying these techniques out, too!
