A Swirly Thanks – CTS177 & CAS178

I’m a part of seven a few card swap groups on Facebook and sign up for a themed swap or two per group every month. I usually end up making 10-20 cards every month and receive as many as well. This card I’ve made using two different challenges is for a swap partner and I’m hoping she doesn’t read this before she receives it in the mail.

I enjoy swaps a lot – something about the idea of sharing and swapping amazing cards from random crafters all over the world makes me feel more connected somehow. Bonus part is my boyfriend, Scotty, collects stamps so he gets to keep all the stamps my swap partners uses in their envelopes from around the world.

CAS(E) This Sketch 177 was designed by Sandy from the blog, Stamp with Sandy. I’ve also decided to use Clean And Simple’s Colour Challenge 178 for that fun, summery look.

A Swirly ThanksA Swirly Thanks

As I’ve mentioned from my earlier post, Stampin’ Up! came out with the new 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue and I’ve pre-ordered my latest obsession back in May before the catalogue came out for the public – Demonstrator perks!

A Swirly Thanks - Close UpYesterday, I used the Swirly Bird stamp set + Swirly Scribbles thinlits dies Bundle together to make a sail boat card. Today’s card, however, is much simpler than that. I only used the Swirly Bird stamp set and made this pretty swirly flowers. The possibilities with this bundle is endless and I have yet to try them all.

Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Pear Pizzazz are the only colours I’ve used for this card (aside from the Whisper White and Basic Black, of course). I stamped the cute background dots from the Swirly Bird stamp set with Pool Party to give it some texture, Calypso Coral for the cute swirly flowers, and Pear Pizzazz for the leaves.

A Swirly Thanks - FrontThe greeting is from the stamp set Suite Saying and I used Basic Black archival ink for it. I love how easy this card was to make and the colour combination is something I never would have used on my own if it wasn’t for this challenge.

I feel pretty accomplished with this simple card – two challenges and a swap card for my partner done. Oh, let’s not forget about the stamp in the envelope I’m sure to expect in the mail soon.

For reference, here’s the sketch for the CAS(E) that Sketch 177 and the colour challenge for the Clean And Simple 178. Try it out and share what you’ve made in the comments below.
