Sail Away Scribbles – TGIFC60 & PPA305

I can’t believe we’re halfway through June already! Aside from my garden, I feel like I haven’t done anything outdoors this year yet.

Is it me or am I getting busier and busier as I get older? My July calendar is full and my August is not too far behind. It would be nice if there was some travelling, camping, mini-vacation, road trip, or anything like that in my near future…but nada. Hopefully yours is looking better than mine.

This week TGIF Challenge has a fun theme challenge for us – Road Trip. I’ve also used this week’s Pals Paper Art’s color challenge by Windy Ellard thinking they might go together well.

Stampin’ Up! just came out with their 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue a couple of weeks ago and I have to say I am in love with their new stuff. I had an opportunity to pre-order some products in May – being a Demonstrator HAS its perks.

Sail Away ScribblesSail Away Scribbles

One of my pre-orders was the Swirly Bird stamp set + Swirly Scribbles thinlits dies Bundle. This bundle is so versatile. You can use them to make flowers, balloons, lollipops, kites, sail boats, bird nests, and so much more. You can even use it as a background stamp and make your own DSP.

Sail Away Scribbles - Close UpI only used two inks, Pool Party and Island Indigo, for this card. I just stamped the Island Indigo for a one part of the sail to give it a little dimension.

I used Greatest Greetings stamp set for the greeting and used the treetop part of the Tree Builder Punch for the clouds and sponged them on the top of the card.

I’m very happy with my card and it definitely made me feel better about being stuck at home while everyone else is enjoying the great outdoors.

For the inside, I just layered Pool Party cardstock behind Whisper White.

Andrea, Love, love your cloudy background and the way you die-cut the swirly scribbles to create a frame. Genius! Thank you for playing with Pals Paper Arts this week for PPA305! Hope to see you again soon.

I have to agree that life does seem to be getting busier and busier. Your card took me away though. I felt like I could feel the waves. Great job with the color palette. Thanks for sharing your creativity with the Pals this week.

What a fabulous card Andrea! Love fun and fabulous way that you used the Swirly Scribbles die. The sponged clouds behind the boat really make the card and are an awesome addition to the sailing scene. Thanks for playing along this week at TGIF Challenges. Rochelle xo

I had to do a double take! Did you really glue each piece of the scribbles back to the card?? awesome! Love this card – great job and thanks for joining us at TGIF 🙂

Haha! 😁 There’s a trick to it. I was careful not to take the little pieces off the thinlit and put glue in the pieces I want on the paper and stuck it on.

      Thanks for visiting! 😊
