Ridiculously Happy Swirls – CAS179 & TGIFC61

I promise this will be the last swirls card I make with the Swirly Bird stamp set and/or Swirly Scribbles thinlits dies…this week. ūüėČ I am just so obsessed with this set. It might even be the most versatile set I have in my oh-so-humble collection.

This week’s CAS179 is a fun¬†sketch challenge. I’m also doing TGIFC61 (CASE your Faves Challenge) where participants get to choose which project from any designer, challenger, or winner from previous¬†three challenges you want to CASE (Copy And Share Everything).

I’ve picked Robin Myren’s A Happy Hello card entry for TGIFC58. Make sure to check out her blog for other wonderful inspiration for your own projects.

I didn’t exactly copy it but that’s the whole point of CASEing – getting inspired by other amazing crafters’ projects. It works perfectly for the two combined challenges today and it’s such a fun card.

Happy Swirly - Close UpThis happy swirls card was a lot of fun to make. The three sets of big Melon Mambo swirls were glued on top of each other to get a nested effect. The Daffodil Delight wave swirls in the background was made using two of the wave swirls thinlit from the Swirly Scribbles set. Lastly, those small swirls behind the Basic Black cardstock backing was Pumpkin Pie cardstock.

The cute sentiment was from the Love & Affection stamp set. It comes in a set of 16 photopolymer stamps that I have yet to play with.

The embellishments I’ve used were leftovers from the retired Cottage Greetings project kit. We do have new project kits now that are so fun to make and will usually have a lot of leftovers for you to use in your future projects as well.

There’s also the Paper Pumpkin kit that comes to your door once a¬†month. It doesn’t¬†matter how long I’ve been doing this or how many products I already have in my craft room, I’m always looking forward to my surprise box every¬†month. You just never know what you’ll get!

For reference, here’s the sketch for the¬†CAS179¬†and the one for¬†TGIFC61. Try creating a project of your own and don’t forget to share what you’ve made.CAS179_June2016TGIFC61_June2016

Thanks Jane! I’ll try some of my other stamps for a bit…if I can stay away from the swirls. ūüėČ

Haha! I didn’t even realize it was a different challenge you commented. I just read the color challenge part and understood what you meant anyway. ūüôā
